I'm hanging up the racing shoes so Sexy Sapphire is for sale. I bought this bike in May 2024 and raced Baker City in eastern Oregon. After that, i had my Canyon repaired and used Sexy Sapphire for interval sessions and long rides. 2 things about this bike standout for me: 1. with my 1215g Hunt wheels, this bike climbs really well; i thought it wouldn't because it's a true aero bike but it flies up steep stuff and glides up the long stuff, 2. it is surprisingly comfortable on long rides; i did several 5hr rides (some back to back) and i never had aches or pains. Now i know why Vizma riders use this bike for every stage of the grand tours. This bike is fast, comfy and climbs well. If you want an all-rounder, this is it. Also perfect for TT in Cat 3/4/5 races.

Every month i pulled the cranks to clean them and added a little long-life grease only as needed. Last week i took it to a local bike shop (staffed by mechanics who worked the pro pits at Gila) and they said the bike is in great shape. All bearings are great (hubs, headset, BB), the few cables are great. Any time i've taken it in, they've commented that i have by far the cleanest drivetrain of anybody they see. That's because i wipe it down after every ride and add chain lube every few rides and wipe off excess. I clean the cassette/chain every month, i wipe down the frame after every ride. I do all the little stuff. I measured each of the rotors in 8 spots and the lowest rear is 1.71 and the lowest front is 1.73. Replace rotors at 1.55, so there's a lot of life left, especially if you use non-metallic pads. Brand new brake pads (metallic), chain and bar tape. Pedals not included. Cosmetic scratches as you'd expect. I once made the mistake of leaning the bike while i went to pee and the wind blew it over and the rear derailleur was scratched on a cinder block (see pic).

This is a great bike but the reach is about 2cm long for me, so that's why i'm selling it and keeping my Aeroad CFR. I'm 1.83 with a short torso, so if you're 1.78-1.86 with a standard torso length, you'll fit it perfectly well. Or, if you like a little more reach than me, it'll fit well with a short torso. I will have the bike professionally boxed at my local shop where i had the bike inspected and regularly serviced.
